Sometimes, it takes a bookmark to remind you that the best horror stories involve folks that are less like heroes and more like survivors.

As folks lean into their summertime reading lists, this may be the perfect time to add Book One of our trilogy, set in the paradise of Key West, particularly since the Kindle version is only 99cents.
Book Two, Fluid Shock, is also available at your favorite online retailers, and Book Three, Unda Sanguis, comes out this fall.
This past weekend, David and I has the privilege of attending our first SoonerCon in Norma, OK. It was an energetic and inspirational mix of authors, creators, cosplay, fans, family and friends, all wrapped in a sense of adventure open to all comers.
I stepped into my favorite moderator chair to put quite a few panelists through their paces and we both enjoyed talking about writing, genre, fiction, and everything that we love about cons and fandom. We added a pair of autograph sessions and meet-ups, sold some books, and met a ton of great people.
We will definitely keep Soonercon on our radar and hope to meet all of our new and old friends there next year!

I’ve been blessed with a terrific schedule for my first-ever SoonerCon, including moderating panels with some tremendous guests, a reading session, an autograph session, and a trifecta of chat/klatch events. David Rike will be there, too.
Saturday Night at 10pm will also be my 25th “Inside the Liar’s Panel” event. For my silver anniversary, I again get to interview some of the most creative people on the planet about stories and secrets that otherwise might never see the light of day!

Today’s newsletter from Evolved Publishing highlights a special 99cent promo for three first-in-series horror titles including book one of The Holocaust Engine.
That’s perfect timing for anyone wanting to grab a story set at the beach (although the Key West of The Holocaust Engine might not be too relaxing) and get caught up on our series before book three comes out this Fall.
